Midstory Does Doughnuts with Sweet Ami
Last week I posted on my @adventureswithoutlaw stories about Gabriel wanting to see some doughnuts we were delivering to someone else. He asked if he could just have “ooooone little bit. Will that make me sick?” and I got so many SWEET responses of people sending sympathy. It always means the world that so many of you guys genuinely feel for Gabriel with all of his allergies. Last year he had his first cinnamon roll and it was the best thing ever, watching the joy.
So, anyways, when I posted that, I had a flood of sweet sympathy, but I also got a message from my sister that she was going to bring a fryer over and make Gabriel doughnuts! The saving grace to Gabriel’s insane allergies is having a sister who doubles as an incredible baker. She somehow manages to make incredible gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, nut-free, seed-free and corn-free desserts that we order for birthdays. Emory has gotten to enjoy the allergen-free versions of normal kiddos treats much earlier than Gabriel now that we are back living close to Amy.
We actually had a form of doughnut one time in Chattanooga, but is it really a doughnut if it isn’t fried? It was very delicious, but it wasn’t the pillow-y goodness that you want for the real doughnut experience. On top of getting that experience today, he got to watch the whole process in our screen porch with his best friend/cousin, Davis! I had to keep Emory away from the hot fryer, so I didn’t capture photos of the frying, but I got them of them enjoying!
I am so thankful for my eldest sister’s huge heart and her amazing talents! She does a lot more than doughnuts and she is extremely accommodating to people with allergies. If she can work around our allergies, she can easily work around yours, I guarantee it! Sweet Ami!
Lastly, with Valentine’s Day coming up, be it your spouse, your boyfriend or girlfriend, child or pup, I hope you look at your Valentine the way Emory looks at his doughnuts:
