Mary Rooks, Owner

Hey y’all! Thank you for being here! In case you’re wondering, I’m Mary, the girl behind the camera. My job is to capture organic, approachable, real life moments and my style is natural, moody, romantic, and warm. I am based out of Jackson, Mississippi and currently work from my home office, while taking care of our two little boys — Gabriel and Emory. When I’m not behind the lens, we spend our time adventuring, exploring, cooking, drinking coffee, playing music, traveling, and cycling with our friends.

I took up photography last year as a “side hobby” and it quickly and unexpectedly became much more than I could ever imagine. This hobby-turned-passion led to a discovery of talent that I never knew was within me. It has been an incredible year of learning and growing, both professionally and personally. Y’all, I have always been a storyteller… I talk with my hands, I think out loud, I linger in parking lots talking to strangers, and I have always been a writer… but I never knew my passion for talking about real life could spill over into capturing real moments behind a camera.

I am so humbled to be able to do this — to capture real moments, in real life, mid-story.
